How Newbold Hope can help with difficult and dangerous behaviour in children and young people who become overwhelmed with anxiety.

There are a lot of articles and videos that you may find helpful, both for you and your family, and also to share with professionals who may not understand anxiety.

Here are three suggestions to get you started.

Our webinar series

We have developed a series of training videos to support the families of this group of children and young people to develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to work with their children to significantly reduce episodes of difficult or dangerous behaviour. Due to this work, we now know of over 4,000 families who have successfully supported their children to move towards much happier times and are now looking forward to much more promising and hopeful futures.

Many of our webinars are now available to buy for £8.50 each, which gives you four weeks’ access. Here is the link to find out more:

The Ted Talk

The NHS invited me to be one of their 10 TEDx Talk speakers, to explain why difficult and dangerous behaviour happens and how to support a child or young person to move beyond their difficult times. TED Global have now included it on their TED Talks main platform, and it had over one million views in less than six months. The feedback has been so heart-warming; it really is changing the way that many people think. If there is someone in your family, or among your child’s team who doesn’t quite “get it”, sharing this with them could change their thinking too. I so hope so!

Tips for Professionals

With the help of our Newbold Hope Community of families, we have written two reports, one called “If only they’d listened…”, which has dozens of direct quotes from parents about the devastating outcomes they experienced because they were turned away when they asked for help. The other report is about the long-term damage that wrongfully blaming parents can do to the whole family. You may find them both interesting as well, but you are very welcome to share them with professionals in your child’s team .
